Fulfilling People’s Lives

My New House started with a simple but powerful dream: to open a thrift store in the heart of the Rampart community where people could find quality items at prices they could afford. From day one, our little shop became a neighborhood favorite—offering new and gently used clothes, shoes, home goods, furniture, and everyday essentials that fit every budget.

We chose Rampart because it’s a neighborhood that has long faced tough challenges—everything from gang violence and homelessness to daily safety concerns. But we also saw its strength, resilience, and need for a place that could bring hope. We wanted to be part of the solution.

For two meaningful years, our shop served thousands of families. But when the budget became tight, we made the difficult decision to close. Raising prices went against everything we stood for. So instead, on our final day, we opened our doors and told our community to take what they needed—no charge, no questions asked.

Thanks to the love and support of family and friends, a passionate community leader and recent doctorate graduate transformed My New House into a nonprofit. As the needs around us grew, so did our services.

The demand for free and affordable resources is greater than ever, and we have brought the thrift shop back—this time online—still offering everyday low prices with dignity and care.

Today, My New House continues to walk alongside individuals and families with the same heart and mission we had from the beginning. Everything we do is rooted in empathy, hospitality, and a shared belief that we’re better when we lift each other up.

Together, we’re building stronger communities—one act of kindness at a time.
