🌿 Free Mediation Services — Resolving Conflicts Peacefully & Confidentially
🟩 In Partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Consumer & Business Affairs (DCBA)
At My New House, we believe that every conflict deserves the opportunity for understanding, communication, and peaceful resolution. Through our partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Consumer & Business Affairs (DCBA), we are proud to provide the community with free mediation services designed to help individuals and families resolve disputes without the stress, cost, or formality of going to court.
Mediation is a voluntary and confidential process that brings together the parties involved in a disagreement with the assistance of a trained, neutral mediator. The mediator does not take sides or make decisions; instead, they guide respectful dialogue, helping each person express their concerns, listen to the other side, and work collaboratively toward a mutually acceptable agreement. This approach empowers community members to take an active role in solving their own problems, preserving relationships, and restoring peace within neighborhoods, homes, and workplaces.
Our program addresses a wide range of conflicts that commonly affect everyday life.
-
Landlord–Tenant Disputes:
Housing issues can be stressful and complex. Our mediators assist landlords and tenants in discussing matters related to rent increases, repairs, lease terms, evictions, housing conditions, lockouts, security deposits, retaliation, and requests for reasonable accommodations. Mediation offers a space to explore fair solutions while maintaining housing stability and avoiding costly legal action.
-
Neighbor Disputes:
These disagreements may involve issues such as parking, excessive noise, property boundaries, children’s behavior, pets, fences, nuisances, shared driveways or laundry facilities, tree trimming, and trespassing. Through mediation, neighbors can clarify misunderstandings, set clear expectations, and rebuild a sense of respect and community harmony.
-
Family Disputes:
Living arrangements and household dynamics can create tension between family members. Mediation helps current or former household members navigate disagreements about housing, shared responsibilities, or changes in living situations, encouraging cooperation and understanding during difficult transitions.
-
Healthcare Disputes:
We also support individuals facing issues with medical billing, debt collection, insurance coverage, or emergency services. Mediators help bridge communication gaps between patients, providers, and billing departments to reach fair and transparent resolutions.
