The Giving Closet
The Giving Closet is now open! 💚
After much preparation and planning, My New House proudly launches a program that helps families access household and personal items — free or at a very low cost — all new or gently used.
This initiative was created to support families who not only struggle with housing but also with the everyday essentials that make a home feel complete. The Giving Closet provides access to quality items that bring comfort, dignity, and stability.
By offering upscale brands and gently used donations, The Giving Closet promotes sustainability, generosity, and community care — where every donation makes a meaningful impact.
The space is designed like a small boutique where families can “shop” for what they need in a welcoming and respectful environment.

Items Include:
🛋️ Household essentials – small furniture, décor, and appliances
👚 Clothing and shoes – for children, adults, and seniors
🎨 Art and home accents – to brighten living spaces
👜 Accessories and personal items – including handbags, linens, and more -
The Process
Each person may choose 3 free items per household member and enjoy unlimited low-cost items available for purchase.
There are two ways to obtain items from our thrift store:
1️⃣ By becoming a member:
Complete an Intake Form, meet with a Case Manager to assess your needs, and provide medical plan cards and IDs for each household member.
If you’d like to become a member, please schedule an appointment for client care support and complete the Intake Form at least 24 hours before your visit.
2️⃣ By purchasing items that are for sale:
Please note that shoppers who are not members may only purchase from the sale section and cannot select from the free collection, even if they wish to pay.
How to Become a Member of The Giving Closet
To join the My New House Giving Closet and start accessing free and low-cost items, please complete the following steps:
1️⃣ Schedule an Appointment
All visits require an appointment — no walk-ins accepted.
2️⃣ Bring a Government-Issued ID
(Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport)
3️⃣ Bring Medical Plan Cards
(Molina, Health Net, LA Care, or other insurance providers)
4️⃣ Complete the Online Intake Form
